LocalChampions: Localworks’ Monthly Donors Club

Localworks is excited to introduce a program to give back to those who give to us: LocalChampions, our monthly donors club.

Localworks is continuing to grow and develop here in Wheat Ridge and it is all thanks to those who continue to support us whether it be through donations, volunteer time, or just attending our events throughout the year! Thank you for being a part of our community!

Our monthly donors club, LocalChampions, will provide an easy way for community members to support our mission to make Wheat Ridge a more vibrant and sustainable place to live and work. 100% of monthly donations will go directly into our programming, including community favorites like our Live Local event series, Block Party grants, and our summer Dumpster Days. Your donation directly impacts these programs, and in return, directly benefits you and your community. Our monthly donors club will begin on March 1st and continue through the year.

What is a monthly donors club?

A monthly donors club consists of members of our community who fiscally support our organization with a scheduled donation that goes directly into our programs once a month. Our programming is made possible by your support, and Localworks will continue to graciously accept donations of any amount throughout the year. When you schedule a monthly donation, you allow us to provide more generous support to our local businesses, offer more incredible community events, and further develop our programming to better serve Wheat Ridge businesses and residents. As a monthly donor, you are a crucial investor in the stability of our future, making Wheat Ridge a more vibrant and sustainable community.

“Localworks is a community-first organization, through and through. I give to Localworks because, beyond programming, they’re investing in every aspect of life for businesses and residents to make Wheat Ridge the best place it can be.”
– Mark De La Torre, Wheat Ridge resident

Why become a LocalChampion?

To show our appreciation for your impact, we want to give you something in return!

We have created three different donor levels to allow for a range of giving opportunities depending on what works best for our community members. Beginning with our Crimson Club Members who give $5 a month, then our Gold Club Members with a gift of $10 a month and, finally, our Royal Club Members who donate $20 a month. Each level comes with varying perks in return.

Together, you are LocalChampions!

Crimson Club Member – $5/month

What can your $5 a month do? Believe it or not, $5/month will have a significant impact on our mission of making Wheat Ridge a vibrant and sustainable place to live and work! Your $5 a month equates to $60 a year, which allows us to fund THREE Live Local events for a Wheat Ridge community member. Live Local events aren’t your thing? That same $60 a year can cover the cost to dispose of 25 cubic yards of trash at one of our Dumpster Days! To put that in perspective, one cubic yard of soil typically weighs around 2100 lbs. That would mean your $5 a month could cover over 50,000 lbs of dry, loose trash per year. Talk about helping your home be a cleaner and more sustainable community!

Crimson Club Perks:

  • One extra drink token at every Live Local event
  • One-time $5 gift card to Stylus and Crate

Gold Club Member – $10/month

If $5 a month can do all of that, just imagine what $10 a month can do. This $10 a month donation will double your impact to $120 per year, which equates to SIX Live Local events for a Wheat Ridge community member or a whopping 100,000+ lbs of trash disposed of at our Dumpster Days. No matter what club level, your monthly donation will go into the same pool for Localworks programs; how big of a splash will YOU make?

Gold Club Perks:

  • One extra drink token at each Live Local event
  • One-time $10 gift card to Esters in Gold’s Marketplace
  • Shout out in our monthly newsletter

Royal Club Member – $20/month

For $20 a month (or $240 per year), you can directly support ALL TWELVE Live Local events for a community member and significantly impact our TLC Dumpster Day program to help us keep Wheat Ridge neighborhoods clean! Royal Club Members make the biggest impact on our programs, allowing us to dream bigger and build better.

Royal Club Perks:

  • One extra drink token at each Live Local event
  • One-time $20 gift card to ANY Wheat Ridge business of your choice
  • Shout out in our monthly newsletter
  • Invitation to be first in line at our TLC Dumpster Day events
    • We will designate a time and reserve space for Royal LocalChampions rather than moving cars out of the way for traffic control reasons. Although we do not expect it to, this incentive may be subject to change depending on our ability to keep our TLC Neighborhood Clean-up Days running smoothly.

*Some donor benefits may evolve and change as we continue to learn how best to accommodate our community members. If a reward needs to be changed, we will communicate as soon as possible on how best to reimburse you or provide you with a different incentive.

Ready to become a LocalChampion? Click here to schedule your monthly donation today!

We would like to reiterate that Live Local events are always free and open to all residents of Wheat Ridge. These donor benefits are simply to thank those who choose to fiscally support our organization, not to block or hinder those who either do not want to or are unable to donate. We truly appreciate any kind of support that our community is able to give.

TLC Wheat Ridge is a joint effort of Localworks and the Wheat Ridge Police Department. The goal of this program is to bring neighbors together to strengthen the community and keep our city clean and safe. To accomplish this work, we offer Clean Up Days, Dumpster Day Grants and Block Party Grants. Your donation directly impacts this programming by allowing for more debris to be collected in Wheat Ridge as we strive towards our daily mission of making Wheat Ridge a more vibrant and sustainable place to live and work.

CCM Community Mural

Community Paint-by-Numbers Mural

This event series has been postponed until further notice (late Spring/early Summer 2024) due to weather concerns. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your excitement for the opening of Clear Creek Makerspace. Please visit www.wearelocalworks.org/events to stay up to date on the grand opening of the space. Please continue to check this webpage and subscribe to our e-newsletter for updates on the rescheduled community paint events.

Clear Creek Makerspace is coming to you soon in March 2024! Before our grand opening, the community will have a chance to take part in bringing this incredible program to life through a paint by numbers mural campaign. Localworks will host three community paint events. During these events, you will have the option to paint a section of the mural. Below is the mural design that you will be bringing to life:

How do you get involved?

As Clear Creek Makerspace will foster a culture of inclusion and breaking down barriers to access, the mural is our first step towards creating this culture. To get involved all you have to do is come to a paint event and be ready to lend a hand!

There are opportunities for greater involvement that Localworks encourages if you’re able. Our programs – such as the anticipated launch of Clear Creek Makerspace, the largest project in the organization’s history since its inception in 2005 – depend on contributions from community members like you. You have a unique opportunity to support the mural project in a big way through our giving levels which are shown below.

To help support both the creation of the mural and 5 sponsored memberships for Clear Creek Makerspace upon opening, we aim to raise $10,000 throughout this project between all three paint by numbers events.

Choose your donor level when you register for a paint event below!

If you have questions about any of the donor levels below, please contact Localworks Executive Director, Paige, at ppiper@wearelocalworks.org. If you are ready to commit to a donor level, you can select your donor level during your event registration process, more information is available below. If you are not interested in attending a paint by numbers event but would like to make a contribution, please click here to make your contribution.

More information about sponsored memberships:

Clear Creek Makerspace will offer a scholarship program, through our educational programming arm, Growing U. Scholarships are available for anyone to apply for. The goal of the scholarship program is to break down barriers many underserved populations experience, enabling individuals to enhance their vocational and trade skills, paving the way for a more promising career path in the future.

Paint with a Commissioner!

At every mural painting event you can expect to paint with a commissioner! A representative from the Wheat Ridge Cultural Commission will be present at all of our community mural events to answer questions you may have, or to just chat about their organization!

More information about paint by numbers events:

Community members are invited to join us for a once-in-a lifetime opportunity, leaving your legacy in Wheat Ridge and on Clear Creek Makerspace, at our paint by numbers mural events. During the event you will have the opportunity to paint a small section of the mural on the building. Please be aware of the following limitations:

  • Community members will not be permitted to paint any part of the mural that requires a ladder.
  • All paint and supplies will be provided by Localworks. Community members will not be permitted to use their own paint or paint supplies.
  • Unless you have been permitted to reserve a paint time through a donor level, painting will take place on a first come first serve basis.

Weather Disclaimer:

The CCM mural and the work that our community puts into it is SO important! We want to make sure this mural is around for years to come – you are leaving a legacy after all!

In order for the paint to dry/stick properly we have to follow specific temperature requirements. We all know how unpredictable Colorado winters can be! Localworks staff will closely monitor the local weather reports leading up to each event. If temperatures below the appropriate threshold are predicted, we will let you know the event is postponed via email and social media. Our website will also be updated. Thank you for your understanding and happy painting!
