As a nonprofit organization, Localworks relies on committees to give input on initiatives and programs and to help evaluate success. If you are interested in joining a committee, simply reach out to the staff liaison for that committee for more information. Committee descriptions are below.

This committee is the voice of Localworks. By combining a variety of unique perspectives and expertise, the committee provides input and creates connections in all forms of media.

You’d be a great fit if:

  • You love getting other people excited about Localworks and our programs.
  • You’re interested in social media, graphic design, photography and/or media relations.
  • You have professional marketing expertise to share.

Community Engagement

Meetings on the 3rd Wednesday of the month
12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Localworks office

This committee is focused on outreach and relationship building within our community. The goal of the committee is to collaborate with ambassadors of Localworks to engage and retain members, volunteers, sponsors and partnerships.

You’d be a great fit if:

  • You have a passion for Localworks and our mission.
  • Community building is important to you.
  • You have connections with groups and/or individuals in our community.

Finance

Meetings on the 3rd Thursday of the month
9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at Localworks office

This committee is charged with giving input on the budget and advising on financial programs. The finance committee also serves as the Loan Committee and review loan recommendations.

You’d be a great fit if:

  • You have familiarity with financial reports and/or lending.
  • You love numbers.
  • You have an eye for creating organizational efficiency.

Fund Development

This committee brings a variety of perspectives and expertise to the organization’s fund development plan. The team helps raise contributed revenue for Localworks.

You’d be a great fit if:

  • You have familiarity with fundraising tactics.
  • You have a passion for Localworks and our mission.
  • You think creatively about budgeting and raising funds.

Individual Community Building Event Committees

Monthly meetings as needed

These committees plan and support Localworks’ events, including Criterium and Brewfest, RidgeFest, the Mid Century and Modern Home Tour and Movies on the Ridge. The committees use a combination of attention to detail and creativity to make these events fun and successful for attendees, vendors and the City of Wheat Ridge.

  • You love event planning and attending community events.
  • You have relationships with local businesses and/or vendors.
  • You are a creative thinker.

Live Local Committee

Meetings on the 1st Tuesday of the month
6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Localworks office

This committee focuses on connecting Wheat Ridge residents to each other and to local businesses through unique, fun and educational monthly events. The committee strives to highlight the fun, historical, hidden and quirky right here in Wheat Ridge. Committee members develop, plan and execute these events with staff support.

  • You have relationships with local businesses and/or vendors.
  • You are passionate about shopping locally and supporting small businesses.

Partners in Progress

8:00 – 9:30 a.m. at Localworks office

Partners in Progress focuses on civic engagement in Wheat Ridge. This committee identifies and publicizes ways in which the wider community can get more involved in the public process.
