Position Summary:

As a Shoe Repair Technician in the Reconditioning Department at Dardano’s you will have the opportunity to either embark on a rewarding journey to become a skilled shoe repair technician (if you are new to the industry) or utilize your existing expertise (if you are experienced) to uphold our reputation for delivering top-notch shoe repair services. Key Responsibilities:

• Hands-On Training (for Trainees): Receive comprehensive training on the repair, restoration, and maintenance of various types of footwear, including shoes, boots, and leather accessories.
• Cleaning, conditioning, and general care on a variety of materials.
• Repair Expertise (for Experienced Technicians): Utilize your in-depth knowledge and expertise to perform a wide range of shoe repair and restoration tasks, including sole and heel replacement, stitching, patchwork, re-coloring, and other intricate repairs.
• Quality Craftsmanship: Consistently deliver high-quality repair work that adheres to our company’s exacting standards and specifications, ensuring that all footwear is returned to customers in impeccable condition.
• Equipment Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in operating and maintaining various tools and equipment used in the shoe repair trade, such as sewing machines, stitching tools, cutting instruments, and polishing machines.
• Material Mastery: Utilize your deep understanding of different types of leather, fabrics, and materials commonly used in footwear to make informed repair decisions and provide the best solutions.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other team members to optimize workflow and provide a seamless experience for our customers.
• Safety and Maintenance: Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment by adhering to safety protocols and ensuring equipment is properly maintained and serviced.
• Mentorship (for Experienced Technicians): Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians and trainees, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them develop their skills.

Qualifications:

For Trainees:

• No prior experience in shoe repair is required, but a strong interest in craftsmanship and the willingness to learn are essential.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Attention to detail and strong manual dexterity.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderately heavy objects.

For Experienced Technicians:

• Proven experience as a Shoe Repair Technician, with a demonstrated track record of delivering high-quality repairs.
• Proficiency in a wide range of shoe repair techniques and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderately heavy objects.

Pay: $22.00 – $28.00 per hour
