Neighborhood Clean-Up Days

Sometimes our neighborhoods start to accumulate junk. Debris piles accumulate, couches sit on porches, overgrown bushes need pruning and everything needs a good raking. Load up your car, truck, or trailer with all of this junk and join your neighbors for one of Localworks’ four summer Clean Up Days!

During Clean Up Days we bring multiple full sized dumpsters to a local church parking lot and you bring the junk! As part of our commitment to sustainability, we offer specific landscaping and recycling dumpsters so you can ensure your junk goes to the right place. We even offer special waste dumpsters for hard to get rid of items such as mattresses, tires and paint. In partnership with Bin There Dump That and the Wheat Ridge Police Department, Localworks offers one Clean Up Day each month of summer, June through September.

TLC Clean Up Days are offered as a free community resource with support from Localworks and the City of Wheat Ridge. These events are for Wheat Ridge residents only, and attendees should be prepared to show ID or a recent water bill as proof of residency. If you are able, Localworks highly encourages a suggested donation of $10 to keep TLC Clean Up Days affordable and accessible for all.

Want to make the most of your clean up day? Here are some helpful tips and reminders:

  • Choose the TLC Clean Up Day located closest to you and plan ahead by checking Localworks’ Instagram or Facebook or sign up for our e-newsletter to view the traffic and dumpster zone map for your clean up day.
  • Check the list of accepted items above, and make alternate plans to dispose of any items we cannot accept.
  • Sort your items by type (general trash, recycling, and yard waste) before you load them into your vehicle for more efficient disposal and to speed up unloading.
  • Break down tree branches and large items like furniture in advance. This helps us increase dumpster capacity and keep the line moving. The more efficiently the dumpsters are loaded the more trash we can accept.
  • Be prepared to listen for instructions from Localworks staff & volunteers and Wheat Ridge Police Officers, who will guide you to the appropriate dumpsters so you can unload your items. Got items that are hard to lift by yourself? Bring a friend to help out!
