Chartered in 2005 under the name Wheat Ridge 2020, Localworks is a private, 501c3 non-profit organization serving the City of Wheat Ridge and it’s community members. Localworks is volunteer powered, staff supported and board directed.
The Localworks Staff reports to the Executive Director, who serves at the pleasure of the Board. Each board member serves on a committee alongside Localworks members. Localworks is a non-profit corporation that is governed by a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors are selected through a nomination process that is centered around community involvement.
Under the bylaws, the Board must represent different geographic parts of the City of Wheat Ridge, and also different sectors of the market. There must be a business as well as a residential presence on the Board
Founded by City officials and staff in 2005, our non-profit organization has become a force for change, repositioning Wheat Ridge as a vibrant, respected and sought after community.
Localworks is a movement of citizens actively engaged in shaping and sustaining the community.
Articles of Incorporation: Our organization was originally incorporated as Wheat Ridge 2020, Inc. We currently do business under our trade name of Localworks. Here are our Articles of Incorporation as submitted to the Colorado Secretary of State.
